Tide Command
★★★★☆ 4.2
Tide Command asks you to hold a chain of islands while the sea literally moves the map on you. Low tide opens land bridges for your troops; high tide floods them and forces a rethink. It's a clever twist that keeps every match feeling fresh.
The touch controls took me a couple of matches to trust, but once you learn the drag-to-group gesture, commanding several squads at once becomes second nature. Matches run about ten minutes, which is a good fit for the platform.
It's not the deepest strategy game around, but the tide mechanic gives it a personality most mobile RTS titles lack.
What we liked
- Tide mechanic changes the map live
- Clean squad-control gestures
- Tight ten-minute matches
